He was predeceased by: his wife Panagoula Kappas (Sideris); his parents, John Kappas and Efstathia Kappas (Stavropoulos); and his siblings, Dimitri, Constantine, Georgia and Christina.
He is survived by: his children, John Kappas (Joan) of Plainfield and Tia Lazakis (Ted) of Long Grove, IL; and his grandchildren, Angelo Kappas (Victoria), James Kappas (Megan), George Kappas (Kate), Alex Lazakis and Pamela Lazakis. He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren that loved their Great Papou; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
