It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Walter D. Groom of Pittsfield, Illinois, born in Beardstown, Illinois, who passed away on November 23, 2020, at the age of 70, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert H. Groom and Joyce M. Day Groom; his brother Robert G. Groom; and his mother-in-law Zelma Richards. He is survived by: his wife Joan Groom; his daughters, Angie Hayden (Jack) of Pittsfield, IL, Kate Murphy (Brian) of Monticello, MO and Ann Murphy (Eric) of Monticello, MO; his grandchildren, Madison Murphy, Brianna McCutchan (John), Hannah Hayden, Grace Murphy, Gwyneth Murphy, Jess Hayden, Carly Murphy, Josie Murphy and Finn Murphy; his great grandchild Nova Murphy; his brother Kerry Groom (Sandy) of Pittsfield, IL; his father-in-law Howard Richards of Pittsfield, IL; and his brother-in-law Mark Richards (Sherry) of Pittsfield, IL. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
