He was predeceased by: his parents, Ira Jackson and Thelma Hayden Dyer; his former wife Wilma J. Stewart; his stepmother Ann Dyer; his son Stan Dyer; and his siblings, Jack Dyer, Mardell Bryant, Josephine Benjamin, LaDonna Davis and Carlene Renoud.
He is survived by: his wife Norma Dyer; his sons, Kevin Dyer (Diana) of Pittsfield, IL, Alan Dyer (Vivien) of Pendleton, IN and Jay Dyer of Pittsfield, IL; his stepchildren, Robert McCann (Pollyann) and Annette Whitlock (Doug); his siblings, Junior Looper (Sharon), Patty Wright and Virginia Smith (Gene); and his sisters-in-law, Sue Dyer and Irma Calhoun. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren.
Memorials are suggested to be made to Pittsfield West Cemetery.
