She was predeceased by: her parents, Earl Shepherd and Ella Eckman Shepherd; her former husband Darius Hammitt; her children, Sharon Clayborne and Steve Hammitt; her granddaughter Kim Bailey; her sons-in-law, Tracy J. Bailey and John Baker; and her siblings, Sheldon, Sherman, Richard, Robert Shepherd, Wilma McAllister, Mildred Waggoner, Helen Shelton, Verna Mae Johnson and Dorothy Torrens.
She is survived by: her husband Richard Heightman of Pittsfield, IL; her daughter Shirley Baker of Savannah, TN; her daughter-in-law Connie Hammitt of Rockport, IL; her stepchildren, Pat Waters of Pittsfield, IL, Donald Heightman of Pittsfield, IL and Joe Heightman (Linda) of Pittsfield, IL; and her son-in-law Ed Clayborne. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren, seven step-great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to be made to the Pittsfield Church of Christ or St. Judes.
