With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Lura M. Hammitt (Pittsfield, Illinois), who passed away on September 14, 2019 at the age of 98. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, James Miller and Zella Bowman Miller; her husband Robert Hammitt; her son William Hammitt; and her siblings, Ray Miller, George Miller, Robert Miller, Pauline Havens and Marjorie Williams.
She is survived by: her children, Robert Hammitt Jr. (Phyllis) of Pittsfield, IL, John Patterson (Becky) of Warren, MI, Larry Wingington (Sandy) of Pittsfield, IL, Jeffrey Hammitt (Angie) of Pittsfield, IL, Judy Warpula (Calvin) of Pittsfield, IL, Jan Brokaw (Ed) of Abilene, TX, Julie Hammitt (Pete) and Angela Bolick (Kevin) of Granite Falls, NC; her daughter-in-law Patti Hammitt of Nixa, MO; and her sisters-in-law, Mardelle Hammitt of New Salem, IL, Lois Anne Hammitt of Quincy, IL, Thelma Hammitt of Pittsfield, IL and Mary Anne Heightman of Pittsfield, IL.. She is also survived by twenty-four grandchildren, sixty-three great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren.
