He was predeceased by: his parents, James L. Shields and Alta Shields (Ervin); and his daughter Molly Kite. He is survived by: his wife Peggy Shields of Pearl, Illinois.; his children, Sarah Sanders (Mark) of Thibodaux, LA, Abby Shields of St. Louis, MO, Bridget Lemons (Mike) of Pittsfield, IL and Dustin McClenning (Julia) of Elsberry, MO; his grandchildren, Avery Sanders, Alex Sanders, Elizabeth Sanders, Lucas Kite, Marrissa Lemons, Kayley Clendenny (Cody), Mackenzie Lemons, Shiloh Lemons, Brittany McClenning, Austin McClenning, Madison McClenning, Lyndle McClenning and Blayney Stephen (Jake); his brother Don Shields (Dorothy) of Phoenix, AZ; his nieces and nephews, Debra Niziolek (Alec), Rachel Toelke (George), James Shields and Jim Butler; his sister-in-law Betty Butler (Benny) of Pearl, IL.; and his friend Cornjerker (Betty Shaffer).
