It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Richard Lee Smart of Pittsburg, Illinois, born in Carbondale, Illinois, who passed away on December 31, 2023, at the age of 71, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, George Smart and Ruth Smart (Tompkins); his wife Debbie Smart; his son Eric Smart; and his daughter-in-law Brenda Smart.

He is survived by: his children, Todd R. Smart of Gardner, IL, Adam Smart (Summer) of Pittsburg, IL and Sara Ewing (Steve) of Pittsburg, IL. He is also survived by ten grandchildren and two great grandchildren and five brothers & sisters.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Busby Cemetery.
