He was predeceased by: his parents, William David and Ella Keene (Poninski); his son John Peyton Keene; and his great great grandchild Adaline Palmer. He is survived by: his wife Betty Keene of Pinckneyville, IL; his children, Valerie Thurber (Keene) of Pahrump, NV, William Estil Keene of Pinckneyville, IL, Linda Keene of Oakland Park, FL and Tammy Weger (Keene) of Summersville, MO; his siblings, Daniel Paul Keene (Debbie Roberts) of Simpsonville, NC and Patricia Harsy (Keene) of Pinckneyville, IL; his grandchildren, Adrianna Shaw (C. B.), William Estil Keene (Angie McRoy) and Charles Terrill Allsopp; his great grandchildren, Kayla Parish (Andy), Tamara Palmer (Brendan), Arianna Keene, Lillian Keene and Stellamina Shaw; his great great grandchildren, John Derek Palmer and Aurora Palmer; his nephew Mitchell Harsy (Rebecca); his great-nephews, Ethan and Evan; his nephew Andy Keene (Amber); his nephew Christopher Keene; and also Suzannah Rose Keene.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, March 18th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church (105 Mill St, Pinckneyville, IL 62274). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, March 18th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
