He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Owen and Viola Owen (Hubler); his foster parents, Jess Hill and Tillie Hill; his siblings, Alfred Owen, Waldo Owen, Wilfred Owen, Dale Owen, Joseph Owen, Moses Owen, Noel Owen and Dorothy Hopp; and his former wife Delores Carter.
He is survived by: his significant other Geraldine Jones of Pinckneyville, IL; his daughters, Jacklyn Miller (David) of Millstadt, IL and Karen Wells (Mike) of Waterloo, IL; his sister Barbara Keifer; his grandchildren, Denise Mitan (Mike), George Dill, Jr. (Bobby Sue), Jennifer Miller and Dana Morgan; his great grandchildren, Brittany Carson (Greg), Kelsey Mitan, Alyssa Mitan, Bryce Morgan and Isaac Dill; his nephews, Kenny, Doug and Bobby Owen; and his close friend Alan Chamberlain.
