She was predeceased by: her father Homer; and her brother Robert Schafer. She is survived by: her mother Helen Schafer of Pinckneyville, IL; her daughters, Juli Ballantyne, Williams Ballantyne of DuQuoin, IL and Jayne Ballantyne of Champaign, IL; her grandchildren, Amanda Williams, Amber Davis (Ronnie), Virginia Williams, Trace Williams and Crush Ballantyne; her great grandchild Ronnie Davis III; and her sisters, Lois Heisner of Nashville, IL and Jean Millikin (Steve) of Okawville, IL. She is also survived by her nieces, nephew and other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the family.

“Joyce, It’s been almost four years and I have never paid my respects to you. You played an important part of my earlier years in life. I would always have the most fun with you & Jayne. When I was younger I use to wish I was Jayne’s sister so I could move in with you two. I took a lot of things for granted when I was younger and and even up until this day I do, but what I would give to go back to when I was 8 again, to have you, my mother, Jayne, and myself all together again, but better. <3”
