He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Benns and Frances Benns (Mustred); and his sister Donna Ayres. He is survived by: his wife Clara "Pat" Benns of Pinckneyville, IL; his daughter Lou McCombs (Darrell) of Pinckneyville, IL; his grandsons, Darren McCombs (Stephanie) of Newburgh, IN and Dustin McCombs (Mindy) of Mt. Juliet, TN; his great grandchildren, Harper McCombs and Tate McCombs; and his siblings-in-law, Larry Mason (Rosemary), Charlie Mason (Vickie) and Doretta Mason. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
