It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Emory C. Schumaier of Pinckneyville, Illinois, who passed away on April 26, 2021, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, William Schumaier and Ida Anna Schumaier (Hopp); his son-in-law Willard Knop; his stepgrandson Jonathan Knop; and his brothers, Clarence and Eugene.

He is survived by: his wife Betty C. Kunkel; his children, Elaine Knop of Steeleville, Gary Schumaier of Pinckneyville, Jane Lynch (Orval) of Tamaroa and Donna Schumaier of De Soto; his brother George Schumaier of Pinckneyville; his grandchildren, Ryan Schumaier (Tina Kelly) of Marion, Staci Schumaier (Matt Abney) of Marion and Kayla Lynch of Tamaroa; and his stepgrandchildren, Gail Knop of Steeleville, Cherie Barbre of Carmi, Leslie Duvall of Steeleville and David Knop of Steeleville. He is also survived by several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
