Deloris Getzie Obituary

With solemn reverence, we commemorate Deloris Getzie of Pinckneyville, Illinois, whose life came to an end on January 17, 2025 at the age of 90, leaving behind cherished memories. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert McDonnough and Effie McDonnough (Davis); and her husband James S. Getzie. She is survived by: her children, Bobby Dean Markotay of Du Quoin, Johnnie Ray Markotay of Kell and Judith Renee Markotay Burns of Mascoutah; and her grandchildren, Adam Markotay, Travis Markotay, Bobby Markotay, Jr., Jeric Burns and Chad Burns. She is also survived by several great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 24th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the Searby Funeral Homes (130 S Washington St, Du Quoin, IL 62832). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, January 24th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church (100 W Main St, Du Quoin, IL 62832).

Friends may make memorials to Catholic Daughters of America or Sacred Heart Catholic Church and will be accepted at the funeral home.
