It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Clayton E. Emling of Pinckneyville, Illinois, who passed away on February 1, 2024, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Russel A. Emling and Lena Mae Emling (Gillis); and his son-in-law Donald Shanklin. He is survived by: his wife Martha I. Emling of Pinckneyville, IL; his children, Elizabeth E. Shanklin of Pinckneyville, IL, Rusty Emling (Kathi) of Chanute, KS and Richard Emling (Tanya) of Pinckneyville, IL; his sister Janet Schmidt (Dieter) of Show Low, AZ; his grandchildren, Kala Baxter (Seth), Shelbi Holmes (Blake), Peyton Emling (Blaise), Syndi Dietsch (Cameron), Emily Shanklin (Michael), Sophi Emling and Kedric Emling; his stepgrandchildren, Hayden Carter (Madison) and Chris Galbraith; his great grandchildren, Izabel, Drake, Jett, Ivy and Kasen; and his caregivers, Maria, Rita, Phoebe, Savannah, Dixie, Ramona and Shelly.
