Marsha Fae Miller Obituary
Marsha Fae Miller, 74, of Petersburg, formerly of Springfield, passed from this life on October 26, 2023 at Sunny Acres Nursing Home. A loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend, she will be missed by many.
Marsha was born to Henry and Verna (Marshall) Benbrook in Herrin, Illinois on November 18, 1948. She attended West Frankfort schools, and she relocated to Springfield following high school graduation. She met John A. Miller, in the fall of 1968, and they were married on August 28, 1971.
She is survived by her husband John and sons, Jeffrey and Micah, daughter-in-law Tonya, and granddaughters, Hailey and Tori Miller. She is also survived by her sister, Glendarae Benbrook Lanoue and many treasured nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were both parents and one sister, Sharon Kay Mandrell.
During her working years, she provided secretarial support for the Illinois Secretary of State, Illinois Department of Transportation, and Federal Highway Administration.
Following the birth of her children, she was a homemaker for several years before returning to work at the Illinois State Medical Insurance Society. She was a great mother and life companion with 52 years of marriage. Marsha and her family joined West Side Christian Church in 1992, when the church held services at Springfield High School auditorium.
Marsha was known to have a warm heart and sympathetic ear for those who were going through a tough time or needed a shoulder to cry on.
Visitation: 3 – 6 pm, Wednesday, November 1, 2023 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.
Funeral Service: 6:00 pm, Wednesday, November 1, 2023 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield with Pastor Cindy Lash officiating.
Graveside Service: 10:00 am, Thursday, November 2, 2023 at Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to West Side Christian Church.
