She was predeceased by: her parents, Ben Curry and Roberta Curry (Taapken) of Atterberry, IL.; her husband James "Vernie" Ames; her brothers, John Curry (Kaye) and Harold Curry; and her fiancé Rod Minor.
She is survived by: her son Johnnie Schafer (Laura); her grandson J. Henry Schafer; and her brother Russell Curry. She is also survived by many nephews, nieces and cousins.
