He was predeceased by: his parents, William L. Kowalski and Ann Kowalski (Krogulski); and his sister Louise Guerini. He is survived by: his wife Carol Jean Jakubiak; his sons, Edward T. Kowalski (Dena) of Spring Valley and William G. Kowalski Jr. (Kelli) of LaSalle; his grandchildren, Kyle, Callie, Lanie and Carlie Kowalski; and his siblings, Mary Medvetz (Robert) of Hoosick, NY and Donald Kowalski of Rockford.
