It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Virginia L. Radke-Flaherty of Peru, Illinois, who passed away on October 12, 2021, at the age of 102, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Toefil Twardowski and Katherine Twardowski (Strozewski); her former husband William C. Radke; her spouse Francis J. Flaherty; her daughter Nancy Radke; her stepson Patrick Flaherty; and her siblings, Donald, Arthur, Harry, Frank, Leonard Twardowski, Gertrude Jerman and Helen Cass.

She is survived by: her daughter Sharon Tobys (Thomas) of Orofino, ID; her stepchildren, Mary Blair (Tom) of Urbana, John Flaherty (Susan) of Collierville, TN and Nancy Lubera (Bill) of Bartlett; her stepdaughter-in-law Edith Flaherty of Peru; and her sister Dolores Gilman (Arnold) of Louisville, KY. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to St. Joseph's Church, Peru.

“Having noticed an obituary for Virginia Radke-Flaherty in the Catholic Post, with a daughter Sharon listed, I am wondering if this is the same Sharon Radke that attended St. Mary's Academy in Nauvoo, Il in '55-'56. If so I want to extend my sympathy to her and her family. If this may be the same Sharon I would enjoy hearing from her.”
