He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Kapke and Mary Stoetzel (Kulesinski); his stepfather Bill Stoetzel; and his sons, Joseph and Robert Kapke.

He is survived by: his wife Marguerite White; his daughters, Christine Kapke-Bland (Robert) of LaSalle and Lisa Budz (Ted) of Chicago; and his grandson David Joseph Beams.
