She was predeceased by: her parents, August Liebhart and Anna Liebhart (Stuppy); her husband Harold "Red" Smith; her daughter Anna Rhae Wallace; and her siblings, Claude, August, Ramon, Richard, Andrew, William Liebhart, Katherine, Audrey and Helen Liebhart.
She is survived by: her daughter Barbara Galick (Richard) of Homer Glen; her grandchildren, Jennie Andrews (Dave) of Fort Worth, TX, Christian Nickel (Diane) of Fort Worth, TX, Melissa Gleason (Patrick), Sarah Harjung (Robert), Jonathan and Marybeth Galick of Homer Glen; her great grandchildren, Emily Andews, Caleb and Jonah Nickel; her sister Mary Carol Jesiolowski of La Salle; her sisters-in-law, Myra Liebhart (William) of Peru, Madeline Liebhart (Richard) of Oglesby, Delores Ecklund (Marvin) of Peru and Bernice Passini (Marion) of Sterling; and her son-in-law Lynn Wallace (Anna) of Granbury, TX. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
A special thank you to the entire staff at River Crossings of Joliet and Transitions Care Hospice who cared for Gita during this ongoing COVID pandemic.
