It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Eugene F. Gatchel Sr. (Peru, Illinois), born in Dixon, Illinois, who passed away on April 24, 2020, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, John Gatchel and Marie Gatchel (Vincent); his brothers, Kenneth, Robert, Donald and Bill; and his daughters, Dolores and Mary Anne.
He is survived by: his wife Dolores Farrell; and his children, John (Becca), Eugene Jr. (Christine), Thomas (Lisa), Rose and Therese (Jerry). He is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family is accepting donations for Masses. Contributions may also be made in his name to St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Peru, Illinois or the Parkinson's Foundation.
