It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Esther Bassetti of Peru, Illinois, born in Spring Valley, Illinois, who passed away on February 24, 2023, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Bernard Liss and Esther Liss (Flaherty); her daughter Christine Bassetti; her sister Bernadette Turczyn; and her sister-in-law Judy Liss.

She is survived by: her daughter Theresa Stiefel (Norm); her grandson Austin Stewart (Samantha); her brother William Liss; her brother-in-law James Turczyn; and her caregiver Jade Blackburn. She is also survived by her loving family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, Esther's family kindly suggests donations be made to the family in order to establish a memorial at Baker Lake.
