Burt Patrick Ellis Jr. Obituary

Burt P. Ellis, 59, of Peru passed away Aug. 31, 2015, in his home.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Mueller Funeral Home, Peru, with the Rev. Gary McKee, pastor of Shooting Park Road Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Peru City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until services Thursday in the funeral home.
Burt was born Nov. 6, 1955, in St. Margaret’s Hospital in Spring Valley to BurtA. and Rosemary (Mathey) Ellis. He was raised in New York and then moved to Peru. He married Christine E. Swiskoski on May 17, 1986 in Peru.
He worked at American Nickeloid as a head plater for 38 years.
He enjoyed bowling, camping, gardening and fishing. He attended Shooting Park Road Baptist Church and was a member of the Steel Workers Union.
He is survived by his wife; his mother, Rosemary Ellis of Palestine, Ill.; two daughters, Sara K. (Michael L. Roberts) Swiskoski of Spring Valley and Jenny Ward; two grandchildren, John and Bridget Ward; two brothers Tim (Toni) Ellisof Rochelle, and Bill (Paula) Ellis of Chicago; two sisters, Shari (Tom) Sadowski of Anna and Tammy (Ted) Dress of Belleville.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Pallbearers will be Michael L. Roberts, Tim Ellis, Bill Ellis and Tom Sadowski.
