She was predeceased by: her parents, Glenn Cawthon and Georgia Pauline Miller Cawthon; her husband Charles Hurst; and her siblings, Glenn Cawthon, Jr., Sanford 'Buzz Cawthon, Mike Cawthon, David 'Butch Cawthon, Richard 'Rick Cawthon, Brenda Mowen, Barbara Patterson and Carol Orr.
She is survived by: her daughters, Lori Sanderson of Perry, IL and Esther Shoemaker (Scott Evans) of Griggsville, IL; her grandchildren, Leslie Sanderson, Dakota Shoemaker and Dalton Shoemaker; and her siblings, Steve Cawthon of Jacksonville, IL, Gerald Cawthon (Connie) of Griggsville, IL and Billie Joann 'Betty' Shoemaker (David) of Perry, IL. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
