He was predeceased by: his parents, Della Mae and Frederick Dawson; his wife Earlene Bearce; his siblings, Joseph Dawson and JoAnn Lewis; and his daughters-in-law, Christine Dawson and Nancy Dawson.
He is survived by: his sons, Peter Dawson of Peoria, IL and Frederick Dawson (Pamela) of Pekin, IL; his grandchildren, Chad Dawson of Bettendorf, IA, Brandy Dawson-Sarraf (Dany) of Peoria, IL, Jill Dawson-Hoffman (Rick) of Peoria, IL, Ian Dawson (Angela) of Pekin, IL and Lt. Colonel Kurtis Sargent (Raquel) of Shiloh, IL; his great grandchildren, Madysen Shanine, Genessa Dawson, Dawson Hoffman, Alexandria Tomevi, CJ Dawson, Laney Hoffman, Ethan Dawson, Maia Dawson, Cole Dawson, RiShann Ware and Kurtis Sargent Jr.; his great great grandchildren, Rylee Ware and Ky Lyna Sargent; his siblings, Nada Manuel of Opelousas, LA and John Dawson of Chillicothe, IL; and his sister-in-law Catherine Dawson of Pinckneyville, IL..
Visitation was held on Monday, March 31st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM and at 1:00 PM at the First English Lutheran Church (725 E Forrest Hill Ave, Peoria, IL 61603). A funeral service was held on Monday, March 31st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Monday, March 31st 2025 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at the Swan Lake Memory Gardens (4601 W. Route 150 Peoria, IL 61615).
