He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas J. Gavin and Velda Gavin (Wagner); his wife Linda Kay Cotten; his grandson Joshua; and his siblings, Tim, Kenneth Gavin and Teckla Gavin.
He is survived by: his children, Tonya Kluever (John) of Peoria, Tiffany Jordan (James) of West Peoria and Todd Gavin (Loretta) of Peoria; and his grandchildren, Jonathan, Joseph, Aimee, Thomas and Justin. He is also survived by four great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
