It is always difficult saying goodbye to someone we love and cherish. Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Rosemary J. Szidon (Peoria, Illinois), born in Bradford, Illinois, who passed away at the age of 90, on October 17, 2023. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

She was predeceased by: her husband Richard J. Szidon; her parents, Doyle Johnston and Margaret Johnston; her children, Julia (Christopher), Gries of Bettendorf, IA, Matthew Szidon (Jennifer) of Peoria, IL and Daniel Szidon (Michele) of Milwaukee, WI.; and her sisters, Betty Phelps, Joyce Shane, Jean Panczak and Helen Crooks.

She is survived by: her grandchildren, Alex (Sarah), Gries, Megan Krupowicz (Jake), Olivia Murphy (Daniel), Abby Szidon (Tyler), Max, Hope Szidon and Jake Szidon; and her sister Jane Anne Morrissey. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews.

Father Stephen Willard will officiate, and burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery in Bradford at 2 p.m.

Preferred memorials in Rosemary's memory may be made to St. Vincent de Paul Parish.

“Happened to be looking up “Szidon” on the internet and saw Rosemary’s recent obit. I was her husband Dick’s cousin (Bernie & Nellie’s son). Further, I was shocked to see that Rosemary was preceded in death by her three children. I lost track of the family, but know that Julie, Matt and Dan were several years younger than me. My condolences to the family. I remember Rosemary as always having a smile and a quick wit. I’m sure she will be missed by her grandchildren. Marvin Szidon”
