He was predeceased by: his sister Colleen Hillard. He is survived by: his children, Jason Ward (Beth) of Chillicothe, Jeff Ward (Jessica) of Dunlap, IL, Whitney Thompson of Peoria and Nick Thompson (Devon) of Peoria; his grandsons, Brandon, Brady, Gavin and Dayne; and his siblings, Kathleen Harper (Wally) and Tim Ward (Sue) of Peoria.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
