She was predeceased by: her parents, Daniel Wiegand and Lena Wiegand (Auberle); her husband Melvin R Getz; and her siblings, Willis Wiegand, Lois Wiegand, Daniel Wiegand, Robert Wiegand, Norma Hangartner and Kenneth Wiegand.
She is survived by: her children, Kathy Getz Thompson of Ft Myers, FL., Rod Getz (Jane) of Ft Myers Beach, FL., Karen Waibel (Dan) of Peoria, Rob Getz of Chillicothe, Jeff Getz (Lisa) of East Peoria, IL and Joann Getz of Hanna City, IL.; her siblings, Elizabeth Blunier, Charlene Schumacher of Eureka, IL and Elton Wiegand (Dietz) of Eureka, IL; and her sister-in-law Beth Wiegand of Morton, IL.. She is also survived by her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 24th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Saturday, January 25th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 9:45 AM. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 25th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Apostolic Christian Church (3420 N Sheridan Rd, Peoria, IL 61604).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Skyline Nursing Home or the Midwest Food Bank.
