He was predeceased by: his parents, Dean A. Shafer and Bertha L. Shafer (Bartley); his sister Deanna Miller; and his granddaughter Rebecca Gaub. He is survived by: his children, Stephanie Gaub (Jason), Thomas Shafer (Mary) and Christopher Shafer; and his grandsons, Ryan Shafer and Nathaniel Gaub. He is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, step-grandkids, and great step-grandchildren.
