He was predeceased by: his parents, Nowlan Rathbun and Mattie Rathbun (Grove); and his brother Herb Rathbun. He is survived by: his spouse Sandy Hanstedt; and his brother Terry (Phyllis) of Tucson, AZ. He is also survived by his 3 step children, 6 step grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

John asked that if anyone wished to make a donation in his memory to please do so to the Livingston County Ambulance Service (SELCAS), 310 West Locust St., Fairbury, IL 61739.
