He was predeceased by: his parents, Cleve McCarty and Vetura McCarty. He is survived by: his children, Cheryl and Gregory. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Saturday, April 12th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the University United Methodist Church (2810 N University St, Peoria, IL 61604). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, April 12th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
