He was predeceased by: his parents, Ulrich Schmitt and Lucille Doris Schmitt (Schmidt); his siblings, James, John Schmitt and Joann Schmitt; his brother-in-law Gordon German; his fathers-in-law, Jim Crusen (Kay) and John Crusen; and his brother-in-law Gary Crusen Vachon (Mary Sue).
He is survived by: his wife Martha Crusen of Peoria; his sons, Peter of Peoria and Tim Schmitt of Peoria; and his sisters, Jeanette German of Morton and Janice Miller (Aaron) of East Peoria. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers memorials in Jerry's memory may be made to Sophia's Kitchen, St. Jude Children Hospital in Memphis or a charity of the donor's choosing.
