She was predeceased by: her parents, John W. Ginther and Vivian Ginther (Kessler); her significant other Gerald "Jerry" Kent; her daughter Julia Francis; and her sister Judith Erickson.

She is survived by: her children, Joseph Kent (Annette) of Milan, IL and Jill Richter (Michael) of Kenosha, WI; her grandchildren, Justin, Jared, Jason Francis, Elizabeth Willis, Robyn Diericks, Noah, Madison Owens, Joseph and Kaylee Richter; and her sisters, Katherine Houlihan of Peoria and Donna Corney (Larry) of Edelstein, IL.. She is also survived by eight great-grandchildren.
