It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ira F. Monroe Jr. in Peoria, Illinois, who passed away on November 18, 2024, at the age of 98, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Ira F. Monroe, Sr. and Myrtle Monroe (Bontz); his sister Eunice Riekena; his brother-in-law Richard Rosenbaum (Marian); and his wife Virginia Rosenbaum.
He is survived by: his siblings, Alice Thompson (Paul), James Monroe (Eloise) and Eva Hudson (Chuck); his daughter Janis Russell (William) of Peoria; his grandchildren, Brad Russell (Leann) of Fishers and Shelley Bicksler (Gideon) of Peoria; and also, Levi, Jonah, Kelsey, Blake and Quinn.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 27th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the First English Lutheran Church (725 W Forrest Hill Ave, Peoria, IL 61604). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 27th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
