He was predeceased by: his parents, Gregorio Serangeli and Argenite Serangeli (Porcari); and his siblings, Joe Serangeli and Norma Rossi. He is survived by: his wife Sharon M. Bannon; his children, Gregory Serangeli, Jr. (Christine) of Washington, IL, Teresa Serangeli (Darren Fuller) of Chicago, IL and Michael Serangeli (Joanna Asia Gumiega) of Chicago, IL; his grandchildren, Kathryn, Vincent, Gregory Serangeli, Ethan, Isabella Fuller and Maksymilian Serangeli; his niece Norma Jean Mefford (Steve) of Pekin, IL; his nephew Joseph Serangeli; and his sister-in-law Mary Jo Pritchard (Michael).

Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 14th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the St. Edward Catholic Church (1216 N 6th St, Chillicothe, IL 61523). A funeral Mass was held on Wednesday, January 15th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Wednesday, January 15th 2025 at the Sacred Heart Cemetery.
