He was predeceased by: his parents, John A. Petzing and Gertrude Petzing (Cloyd); his wife Judith Landis; his siblings, Robert Petzing, Ruth Clement and Donna Petzing; and his niece Chris Ashburn.

He is survived by: his sister Ann Evans of Peoria; his close friend Myrna Hawkins; and his nieces and nephews, Laura Ramey, Barb Alexy, Dave, Eric Haddick, Richard and Fred Clement. He is also survived by his wife's relatives.
