He was predeceased by: his parents, Harvey M. Clewell and Chloe Blongart Clewell; his siblings, Terry Clewell and Sylvia Thomas; and his wife Sally G. Womack.

He is survived by: his children, David Clewell (Ruth) and Kimberly Clewell; his grandchildren, Caitrin, Roman, Alexis and Liam; his great grandchildren, Emma, Lucas, Kaden, Waylon, Roman and Liberty; and his sister Helen Inderwies.
