He was predeceased by: his parents, George G. Hess and Edna Hess (Schobert); and his siblings, George, John, Kenny, Willard Hess, Leanna Wilhelm, Edna Painter and Geraldine Beck.
He is survived by: his wife Gertrude B. Beh; and his sisters, Mildred Evule of Pennsylvania, Shirley Mitchell (David) of Pennsylvania and Nancy Thompson of Pennsylvania. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
