He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas M. Stewart and Lottie Stewart (Barron); and his siblings, William, Stanley, Jerry and Grace.

He is survived by: his wife Mona B. Newsam; his children, Sharon Proctor (Roger) and David Stewart Jr. (Cyndi); his grandchildren, Jessica Eimerman (Randy), Jacob Stewart (Jamie) and Lane Stewart (Allison); his great grandchild Delaney Stewart; and his sisters, Nancy Cook, Judy Thomas (Dick) and Pamela Wooden (Greg). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Greater Peoria Honor Flight.
