He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Karpowicz and Sophia Karpowicz; his siblings, Katherine Vlasis of Pekin, IL, Betty James of Peoria, IL and Frank Karpowicz Jr. of Huntley, IL; and his children, Charles Daniel Karpowicz Jr. of Peoria, IL and Kimberly Brown of Williamsburg, VA..
He is survived by: his sons, Scott Karpowicz (Kathy) of East Peoria, IL and Douglas Karpowicz (Amy) of Tampa, FL; his stepdaughter Dawn Helmick (Wil) of Metamora, IL; and his sisters, Marie Doak of Peoria, IL and Francis "Fritz" Kidd of Burbank, CA. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church (6001 N University St, Peoria, IL 61614). A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association in Dan's memory.
