He was predeceased by: his son James Platt. He is survived by: his daughter Jennifer Wheat (Troy) of Mackinaw; his grandchildren, Brendan Wheat, Connor Wheat of Mackinaw, Maia Wheat and Cora Wheat of Mackinaw; and his sisters, Deborah Stenberg (Daryll) and Cynthia Schmitt (Donal) of Georgia. He is also survived by two nieces, two nephews, three aunts, and several cousins.
