He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Tagge and Helen Tagge. He is survived by: his wife Kathleen Tagge of Peoria, IL; his children, Timothy Tagge (Kathleen) of Deerfield, IL, Martin Tagge (Allison) of Powell, OH, Michael Tagge (Lynne) of Northbrook, IL, Jonathan Tagge (Michelle) of Mackinaw, IL, Elizabeth Tagge of Lawton, OK and Andrew Tagge of Minneapolis, MN; and his brother Robert Tagge. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Concordia University Chicago: Prepared to Serve Program (7400 Augusta Street, River Forest, IL 60305).
