She was predeceased by: her parents, Elmer Johnson and Mary Lou Johnson (Embree); her husband Vernon Downing; and her children, Richard V. Downing and Marsha Miller.

She is survived by: her son Michael Downing of Peoria; her sister Agnes Trent (Ernie) of East Peoria; and her granddaughters, Wendy Avery (Matt) of Peoria and April Downing of Peoria, AZ. She is also survived by seven great-grandchildren.
