Though his name may fade from the lips of time, the imprint Alfred leaves upon the hearts of his loved ones remains eternally vivid — a testament to the depth of his spirit and the richness of his legacy.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfred G. Block and Betty J. Block (Smythe). He is survived by: his wife Kathryn J. Cain; his children, Sarah L. Varnes of Peoria, IL and Alex R. Block (Jennifer) of Chillicothe, IL; and his grandchildren, Alaina, Addison, Ryan and Ella. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or an Veteran Assistance Programs.
