She was predeceased by: her parents, James "Joe" Wright Rodgers and Marilyn Sisson (Harvey); her son Michael Gibson; and her siblings, Tom Hyde and Marguerite Romero.

She is survived by: her former spouse Gene P. Smith; her children, Kimmie Goodwin of Manito and Carl Gibson of Pekin; her grandchildren, Terry Ball (Ashley) of Pekin, Derek Goodwin (Johannah) of Pekin, Ashley Ball of Mexico, Amber Blake (John) of Mexico and April Knight (Korban) of Auxvasse, Missouri; her great grandchildren, Owen, Randy, Hanna, Henry, Charlie, Stella, Emma, Henley and Kyla; her brother Tony Rodgers (Cheri) of Washington; her husband Elvis; and her pet Molly.

Memorial contributions may be given to her family for the continued care of her disabled son.
