It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Samuel David Sanders of Pekin, Illinois, who passed away on December 7, 2024, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel Sanders and Jane Sanders (Reed); and his siblings, Gordon "Mike" Sanders and Marilyn Beil. He is survived by: his wife Sonja Josephine Gunderson; and also, Catherine K. S. Chang of Apple Valley, Minnesota, Annie Sanders of Apple Valley, Adeline Kenlin of Iowa City, Iowa., Kjirstin Kenlin of Iowa City, Iowa., Josephine Kenlin of Iowa City, Iowa. and Soren Kenlin of Iowa City, Iowa..
Visitation was held on Wednesday, December 18th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Thursday, December 19th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM. A celebration of life was held on Thursday, December 19th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Our Savior Lutheran Church (2223 Sheridan Rd, Pekin, IL 61554).
