It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Michael Christopher Knuppel of Pekin, Illinois, born in Peoria, Illinois, who passed away on June 15, 2023, at the age of 42, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

He was predeceased by: his father Douglas Kim. He is survived by: his mother Cheryl Annette Knuppel (Pounds); his spouse Ichie Otsubo; his children, Nanako Annette Knuppel of Japan and Kazuo Christopher Knuppel of Japan; his stepparents, James Voiles of Pekin and Debbie Knuppel of Delavan; his brother Robert D. Knuppel of Oregon; and his stepbrothers, Ian Culbertson (Sonia) of Peoria and Phillip Culbertson (Sarah) of Pekin.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the family for account established for his children.

“I am so very sorry for your loss. I worked with Michael at WMBD for 12 years. He was more than a co-worker, he was a friend. I will forever remember our conversations on everything. He always had a smile for everyone and never let the day go by without a smile or a wave as he passed by my office door…usually on the way to fix something. He loved his family and talked about them daily. My prayers are with you all.”
