He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Duane and Bertha Dancey (Lohman); his wife Nina Evelyn Manker; his son Richard Dancey; his daughter-in-law Tina Dancey; and his grandson Jacob Dancey.
He is survived by: his sons, Burt Dancey of Orchard Mines and Clinton Dancey (Debbie) of Blacksburg, Virginia; his daughter-in-law Margaret Dancey of Silver Spring, Maryland; his grandchildren, Zedford Dancey (Kyong), Sarah Dancey, Silas Dancey (Kristen), Rebekah Dancey, Amos Dancey (Mara), Abigail Dancey (Nathaniel Williams), Elias Dancey (Bethany), Emily Head (Jordan) and Ethan Dancey (Malissa); and his granddaughter-in-law Lia Dancey. He is also survived by eighteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.
