Mary Jo Doty Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Mary Jo Doty (Pecatonica, Illinois), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on February 12, 2025 at the age of 95. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Edrie L. Lietz and Hancock; her daughter Barbara L. Olsen; her sister Ann Benson; her brothers-in-law, Lee Doty and Mel Benson; and her nephew James Benson.
She is survived by: her husband Robert L. Doty (Beno); her children, Mary K. Doty of Chicago, IL, Steven C. Doty (Tina) of Elgin, IL, Mitzi E. Williams (Dwayne) of Machesney Park, IL, Joseph W. Doty (Susan) of Rockford, IL and Jane A. Stivers (Kevin) of Rockford, IL; and her sister Betsy Doty of Pecatonica, IL. She is also survived by grandchildren and their spouses; 15 great-grandchildren, four nieces, two nephews, and numerous cousins and special friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 1st 2025 at 9:00 AM at the St. Mary's Catholic Church (126 W 5th St, Pecatonica, IL 61063). A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, March 1st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Morning Star Village, 1160 N. Mulford Rd, Rockford, IL 61107.
